About

Ultra Violet Production House is an online store by Joshua Citarella and Brad Troemel that provides collectors with do-it-yourself material kits and pre-fabricated works. Works on the store are initially advertised as digital composites of advertising images sourced from just in time online retailers, presenting a hypothetical view of what the completed artwork will look like after assembly.

At the item page before checkout, collectors can choose from one of two options:

1. DIY Kit: collectors will be sent parts, tools, and tutorials for fabrication as well as a certificate of authenticity. Once received, they may then choose to assemble the work or leave their shipping boxes of parts and tools unopened in mint condition.
2. Pre-fabricated: collectors will be sent a fully completed work fabricated by the artists themselves, complete with a certificate of authenticity. UV strives to fabricate works as closely as possible to the composite image proposed. To demonstrate this, many products on the store include both composite and the pre-fabricated installation views so you can compare for yourself. As UV continues to have more works purchased pre-fabricated we will continue to update listings with new installation views.

UV’s business model requires minimal start up costs, eliminating the need for debt, studio rents, material tests and storage. Instead the artists look to spend maximum time on new ideas for products and use composites as a way to let the market decide and pay up front for whichever work it demands.

UV encourages everyone to sign up to support the project through Patreon to receive their upcoming book, pre-fabricated works of art, and behind the scenes looks at the project.
